Exhibition & Youth Art Award “Neighborhood Alphabet”

We are thrilled about a collaboration with the art space Schul- und Bethaus Altlangsow in Brandenburg, where Sarah Sandring’s latest community art project “Neighborhood Alphabet” was conducted in July and exhibited this September. The work now received the Erkner Youth Art Award 2025.
“Neighborhood Alphabet” is a joint project with the local Highschool, the Gymnasium auf den Seelower Höhen. Sarah Sandring asked students to explore their relationship to their neighborhood in instant photography and autobiographical writing. The result is a photographic alphabet of a special kind, from Abendluft (Evening Air) to Zusammenhalt (Solidarity) – personal, poetic, authentic. A rare glimpse at what it means to be teenager in rural East-Germany.
Exhibition: September 13 – October, 2025
A partner project on the annual theme of NEIGHBORHOOD, sponsored by the Oderbruch Municipal Cultural Heritage Working Group. Funded as part of the federal program “Demokratie leben!” by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth.
