In 2012, I lived in India for five months to learn about the threat of industrial farming to local farmers and ecosystems. These photographs show some of the awe-inspiring individuals I met along the way – farmers struggling to cope with the situation and activists devoting their life to protect the land and the people living on it. Not always without danger.
